A Little (White) Christmas
As some of you already know, MY WIFE and I celebrate Little Christmas. My story in the Boston Herald today concerns that. I hope you like it.
Here's a link!
Thanks for stopping by. I truly appreciate your continued patronage.
(Man, that sounds like some extremely insincere business owner, doesn't it? I really mean it, though; honestly.)
Soon, with more better stuff.

My childhood tradition was to put the tree up either Christmas Eve or the day before, (definitely NOT the 1st of November like OlderSon!) then take it down on Twelfth Night, which you refer to as Little Christmas. That's the right way to do it.
We celebrate until Three Kings Day, which is the official start of the Mardi Gras season. There's always something to celebrate!
We usually buy our tree on Gaudete Sunday weekend (3rd Sunday of Advent), just for the expedient reason that, if we wait much longer than that, there won't be any trees left (and sometimes, when Christmas is on Monday or Tuesday, we're scrambling, even at that. . .) We're a bit loosey-goosey about when we set it up and decorate it, but we try to keep in up at least thru Epiphany.
This year, our church still had the Christmas decorations up yesterday (Feast of the Baptism of the Lord; altho there has been an increasing tendency to move the observance of Epiphany to the nearest Sunday, rather than just the 6th. But for sure, 'Ordinary Time' starts today. . .
The other reason to exchange gifts on Epiphany (besides the Magi precedent), is that you can buy your gifts at the post-Christmas sales. . .
Our stuff is mostly down now. Time to get the ladder and put it farther away until next year.
