Pass my husband some more bacon! And i'm up for doing away with this clock change malarky permanently.
How can something so good be so bad? On days that I decide to eat bacon I will probably not eat anything else with salt or meat. Back before we knew any better and the wife and I were still a-courtin' we would make a massive Sunday brunch and split a pound of bacon. It was awesome!
Fall Back Day is my wife's favorite day of the year, so highly does she prize her sleep. So what did she do with her extra hour last night? Stayed up until 3AM (on the 'new' clock; ie, 4AM on yesterday's clock) canning applesauce. . . (*face palm*)
'Course, I DO get the benefit of the applesauce, so there's that. . .
And you know, Time keeps on slippin', slippin', slippin' into the future. . . But then, does anybody really know what time it is? Does anybody really care?
Bacon!!!
...and I will have some of Jenn's applesauce... please!
There're lots of cider mills in Craig's neck of the woods.
I told the PHG to keep her eyes open for him pedaling through her neighborhood.
I went around my house this morning, changed all the calendars (4 of them) to NOV, then changed the time on all the clocks (as I have 4 wind-up antique clocks that strike, that means moving the hands round the clock face and listening to the striking 11 times), then checked the batteries in all the smoke detectors (fire chief's recommendation) and then I enjoyed a bacon and tomato sandwich!!! I deserved it!
OMG!
How do the folks who live where they don't do daylight savings know when to check their smoke alarms?
I love you people. You make me appear sane.
My SIL who is incredibly intelligent turned me on to a food regimen currently recommended by very smart people. It turns out that fat is not as evil as once thought, in fact heart issues have worsened since people were told to limit fat in their diet. The real villain is sugar and carbs. Sugar is addicting, it makes you hungry and that makes people fat. Soda is 100 times more dangerous than bacon. fat satiates and helps you eat less and lose weight.
Since Feb. I have not actually dieted, but I do limit sugar, drink no soda, greatly limit rice and potatoes and snack on nuts not sweets. I have lost 20 pounds and expect to never change my eating habits.
For breakfast I eat eggs and bacon EVERY DAY. I don't eat donuts or toast with jelly. I will choose bacon over a donut any day.
I HATE the time change. Either direction. Leave it the eff alone for goodness sake!! It's BS to say that it saves energy... because when it gets dark, I turn on a light. I don't consult a clock to see if it's time to turn one on, either.
Here's something those stupid bureaucrats don't consider, too.
Kids.
The ones I work with (ages 5 to 12) don't have a great sense of time in the first place. But the first week after the fall time change, a lot of my small ones become fearful when it gets dark and their parents still haven't arrived to pick them up.
So many of them assume that something has happened to their mom or dad because it's dark outside and they're still with me instead of at home. It causes them to cry. To be afraid. And that right there is enough reason for me.
i really really really like when the morning is dark as i walk to work .. i hate the time change because the first week or so i am miserable in the bright morning light .. i am a crank ... grumble ... but i do love bacon its the one 'meat' i still eat ... occasionally ... sigh
