My Mothers Day Card
Being the sort of son that I am, I did not mail a Mothers Day card to My Mom. Instead, I got the Boston Herald to print it and also pay me for the privilege.
READ IT HERE
(I did get her a couple of presents for which I actually paid and we went out to dinner. I'm pretty sure I still came out ahead on the deal, though.)
(And some 100,000+ readers are now aware of what a swell Mom I have; there's that.)
Soon, with more better stuff.

Very nice, sounds a bit like my mom. She gave me "Egg shakes" milk, sugar, raw egg and a cap full of vanilla extract in a blender. I also managed to survive.
You made her proud, I am sure.
Lovely tribute, and they finally let me comment!
Your mom must be smiling such a big smile and thanking you all through the next year. You better be thinking of what to do next year that could top this.
Caught the link from F/B last night.
I kinda wish my mom was still around to remind her that what's good about me is her doing.
Then again, she'd be 100 years old this year and might just be a little tired.
Your mom surely appreciates whatever gift you give her, as with every mom out there.
Good piece, Jim. My history with mothers (that's right, plural) is a tad more, um, fragmented and ambiguous than yours. And yet, Motherhood is an utterly wonderful and splendiferous thing, even in my own jaundiced eyes. . .
Thanks.
As I said over at yer new home on the web: Brilliant.
i am off to read what i expect will cause me to sniffle and sigh .. in a good way
Wonderful, Jim! Your mama "did good."
