Back In The Herald & A Radio Appearance

I have a piece in the Boston Herald today. If you've been wondering who to vote for, I have the answer (or, at least, a way to find out the answer.)

In other news, my previous Herald column seems to have impressed someone enough to have me on-air with him. I won't give details until it is definite (I'm planning on making it so, soon) but the airwaves I may be on have a reach of 38 states on a good evening, so you might be able to tune in.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoy today's column. I'll let you all know about the appearance when it is set in stone.

Soon, with more better stuff.

An excellent idea, let's hope the word gets out and more people take the quiz and vote accordingly.

I took the quiz ~ who the hell is Jill Stein??? Never heard of her! Gary was second. Thanks for the link to the quiz, and a fabulous article.

Well, yer quiz says I'm most in agreement with a guy named Darrell Castle. So I prolly oughta find out who he is, and what his Constitution Party stands for. . .

If I was voting today, I'd most likely vote for the American Solidarity Party, and its candidate Michael Maturen. Which wasn't even on the expanded list of choices for the quiz. . .

I found the quiz a little frustrating; on several of the questions, even the subtler shadings of positions didn't include my own thoughts very well. So I dunno; maybe I'm even weirder than I thought.

But hey, I showed more than 60% agreement with yer guy Gary Johnson. . .

Mimi - I certainly hope so. If everybody did, it would be an entirely different outcome. Not necessarily a win by someone other than Clinton or Trump, but at least a possibility. The so-called "wasted vote" would be unheard of.

Crazy World - Jill Stein is the Green Party candidate.

Craig - Darrell Castle was the runner-up for the Libertarian nomination. When he lost, he sought the Constitution Party nod and got it. Maturen probably wasn't on the list because he isn't on enough state ballots to have a chance at 270 electoral votes, the threshold for electoral victory. Last I heard, Castle may be on track for 40 state ballots, but I don't know if Michigan is one.

There are some answers that are overly simplified, but I think that's because none are missing a shading that the candidates themselves have expressed (at least so far as I'm aware) so that would account for not being able to find your own preferred shading.

Really excellent article.

My results from that quiz were pretty even across the board, but Jill Stein won by a tiny percentage. I don't even know who that is.... Guess that's what comes of living mostly off the grid.

I don't much about American elections. I enjoyed the quiz. It seems I side with Clinton 83% and Stein 81% :)

I found a number of questions on immigrants, but if they are illegal, shouldn't they be deported?

See? It's a very honest quiz. I wish every person in America would take the quiz and vote for the person with whom they truly agree the most.

As for the question concerning illegal immigrants, Ruby, I totally agree. So do many other people. However, not everyone agrees. I find the illogic of that amazing.

Jill Stein edged out Hillary for me. Maybe we should move toward a parliamentary style of government. It would give all the parties a chance at at least some representation.
