Take The Pledge!

Here's something great. It's a button/badge to be displayed on Facebook, your blog page, or anywhere else you think others will see it and join in. If you can actually get it onto a real pin or button, wear it with pride!

I have changed my Facebook profile picture to this button. So have some other folks. By doing so, it is displayed EVERY TIME you post or comment. That's great power and publicity for the cause. Can you imagine this showing up hundreds of times on pages, because so many people have it as their profile? I guarantee it will attract attention, maybe even become a major news story if enough people take the time to change their profile picture to it.

Please change your Facebook profile picture to this image, and please ask your friends to do the same.

Please take the pledge. Display the button with pride. Let your voice be heard.

Thank you.

I was thinking about buttons.
I know where to get buttons (or refrigerator magnets).
The sad part is they aren't cheap.
Then there's the distribution situation.
Geez... I hate logistics problems.

Wouldn't it be fun to walk into a store between now and Thanksgiving wearing one of the buttons?

This first-cousin-to-a-Luddite vows to try to figure out how to post this on my blog page. Every once in a while i try to change things up and post stuff, and then i have to recover for a while, but this is worth trying.

YES no one should be out shopping on Thanksgiving!! We should all be home eating way too much and getting shamelessly drunk. ^_^ ....and you know, spending time with family and stuff.

You bet it would. And, see how this works, everyone? Skip's profile picture is the same as my profile picture and yours will be the same and so on. What a great way to spread the message and attract attention!

Suldog said...

Thanks, Mimi. I'm not a great technical person, either, so I'm sure you can do it :-)

Suldog said...

Woo-Hoo! Thanks, Karen. As noted above, in my reply to Skip, changing a blog photo can help, too (but you've already done enough, and I thank you!)

Suldog said...

Damn straight, Mich.

Thanks, Joe! It's going to be fun seeing this spread.

Well, seeing as Thanksgiving here was on the 14th, it's pretty much useless to me, but all in all, it's a great idea.

Buck said...

Yup, a great ideer.

Suldog said...

Well, I appreciate the kind words, in any case. Maybe I'd be happier seeing OUR Thanksgiving moved up.

Suldog said...

Thanks, Buck. I know you don't do The Book Of Face, but all good thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks! If I can use the technology I will attempt to post it everywhere.

Suldog said...

Cool. Thanks!

I think that shopping on Thanksgiving is an abomination.

I tied it up with Diwali. Otherwise, people here would have thought," when's THAT?? And who has to thank whom!!!" Nice work Jim.

Suldog said...

So, you basically translated my idea to your own culture? Wow. I'm honored. Thank you!

Craig said...

I'll take that pledge in a minute, my friend.

'Cuz, uh, what Yogi said. . .

What we need are political-style yard signs of this button; knowwhatImean?

Suldog said...

Yard Signs, buttons, billboards, radio & TV, smoke signals, skywriting...

I admire you for this.......though we don't have Thanksgiving over here and I don't do Face Book.
Bit of a dead loss, aren't I?

Ok Jim, I took the pledge - and I've reposted the "button of important information" on my blog. Thank you!

Suldog said...

Thank YOU, Alison!

:-) I have NEVER shopped on Thanksgiving. To hell with that. I hate being Marketing's plaything...

Run with it until you can't be ignored. Then change has to happen for the better.

Suldog said...

I can only run so far these days, but I'll give it my best shot :-)

Barbara Shallue said...

I did it!

Suldog said...

And I thank you!

Maybe they can get you a courtesy runner?

Suldog said...

Well, see, that's what I'm hoping - that thousands of people start displaying "The Pledge" and then I can go to the bench and relax!

Yay! I just watched the Red Sox lose game two (which made me sad) but this just brightened my spirits anew!

Aw well.. like Lil said.. our Thanksgiving has passed. And shopping didn't happen as our stores close on Thanksgiving (which is always a Monday, here).
