My sister-in-law is a very lucky person. Her cat saved the lives of herself and her family. I'll tell the story below, but first here's a photo of the heroic feline.
[Smokey, who is much less blurry in person]
It all began when... No, I think I'll let my sister-in-law tell you in her own words. There's little I can add.
"I'm absolutely amazed at how well my cat can communicate with me. After meowing outside my door incessantly for about 15 minutes, I finally got up to see what's wrong. Smokey starts down the hall and looks back to make sure I'm following. All I can say is 'Thank you, Smokey!' for waking me up and saving the family from the ladybug on Ava's bedroom door."
Soon, with meow better stuff.
The cat in my house who clamors like that at 2 am to be let out is not a hero. I tell him, whoever let you in can let you out, and go back to sleep.
ReplyDeleteAnother reason why GS and I don't have any pets.
ReplyDeleteWe are perfectly happy to enjoy other people's animals.
OK, you have to imagine this being written in that low, snarly, Yosemite Sam voice. . .
ReplyDeleteAaahhh HATES cats. . .
(No doubt this is traceable back to my high school days, when the cat my younger brother dragged home took to using my pillow for his own personal feather-bed between sessions of two-a-day football practice. . .)
I'm with you, Craig. I once had a roommate whose cat routinely stalked me... typically by slinking along the back of the couch while I was watching teevee. One time the little #!##%& drew blood on my ear when it attacked me. I got even though... one night the little monster ran out of the house in the middle of a North Dakota winter and it froze to death (true story). My roommate swore up and down I threw the cat out there... but I really didn't.
DeleteYeah... Aaahhh HATES cats.
Most people underestimate the lethal properties of ladybugs, until it's too late. Smart kitty.
ReplyDeleteWell, what do you know! A guard cat!
ReplyDeleteVery impressive. I can see a visit to the White House in his future and a nice shiny medal around his neck. ;)
ReplyDeleteS
Good kitty :)
ReplyDeleteHey Jim,what do you know! Maybe it was alerting you to another of the government's surveillance devices! It was a lady"bug" after all.
