What Anonymous said; I couldn't link to the music file, but the lyrics were top-shelf.
Back when I used to keep a paper journal, my wife would occasionally prod me as to why I didn't write more about her. I think I've corrected that problem, to a large extent, in my blog. . .
Got the link to work, but must admit that it was not GREAT stuff for me. Seemed a little to jerky, but certainly toe tapping enough to listen. I also disagree that you do not write for those you love or who are close to you or for whom you now hate. There are dozens of examples that show this is not the case. Oh well, I am somewhat prejudice as I think my son is an unrecognized genius when it comes to his music....;-)
Tabor - Well, in defense of Cricket, let me say that perhaps I'm listening to the song with a producer's ear, in that I hear the serious potential for a hit single. The tune is catchy, full of great hooks (or spots for hooks.) I envision it being done up with some backing vocals, some organ/keyboard accompaniment, a juicy solo where Cricket has the 8 or 16 bars of rhythm around 3 minutes, maybe a splashy ending with strings, horns, or other instrumentation building layer on layer while that great guitar choogles along underneath.
If Cricket wouldn't find this a horrible insult, I'll say it seems like the kind of song with which a boy band would make millions of teenage girls squeal with delight.
Shucks!
ReplyDeleteI just got here about ten hours ago.
Heh, heh. Thanks again, my swell pal. I came looking for a dose of Suldog-funny, but this was pretty cool too.
ReplyDeleteDamn!!!! I couldn't get it to come up. Loved the lyrics though.
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing out this fine blog. Great music.

Cool link. I could see myself snapping my fingers to it.
ReplyDeleteYep,a darned good treat -one I'd read a bit earlier but worthy of re-reading anyway. So no worry about a refund, Jim!
