It was a good time and we laughed a lot.

I do have to report, though, that The Tahiti was somewhat disappointing. It has been recently refurbished to be not as kitschy as it used to be, for one thing. I miss the fake palm trees and Polynesian murals. The service was fantastic - kudos to our waiter - but the food itself was mostly mediocre. Even the lobster sauce, which I lauded in the piece above as the second-best in the Boston area, was only OK. I have since had some leftovers and my opinion wasn't changed - just middle of the road generic Chinese food. It used to be better.Suldoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07778845367184916684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329973.post-62569078481180084762016-09-03T17:59:29.110-04:002016-09-03T17:59:29.110-04:00Pork with hot ginger garlic sauce

That child wouldn't eat anything that came from an Oriental restaurant until she was 3 years old! Now she can't get enough of anything Asian, espcially "real" sushi and pho.messymimihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10649529601786689712noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15329973.post-73528407101828887422016-09-03T00:33:01.574-04:002016-09-03T00:33:01.574-04:00Out of all my available choices my favorite is chi...Out of all my available choices my favorite is chicken chow with pan fried noodles. Sadly, where I live in Oregon, pan fried seems to mean stir fried noodle bits mixed in with chicken chow. In Cali where I grew up, pan fried meant a mess of noodles that were flopped into a pan and friend into noodle patties that you could have under your chicken chow and twirl like spaghetti noodles to break them up. They are divine! Sigh. I also love egg foo yon as its called here and have learned to make my own. The gravy here in Oregon is watery, not thick. I want that sauce to gel! In fact, I never met a dish that I didn't like. Sometime they are too spicy, I suffer but pain happens.
