My Candidate Did Not Win

That's no surprise, as I voted - proudly - for Gary Johnson. But that result gives me a chance to put into practice the advice I'm handing out in today's Boston Herald.

(If my guy had won, instead, I still would have had a chance to put my advice into practice. I have some suggestions for both winners and losers.)

I hope you'll go to read my piece. And I hope we'll all be as happy as possible going forward.

I'm very tired from the election, so that's about all I have today. Thanks for stopping by and I hope to see you over at the Boston Herald.

Soon, with more better stuff.

Agreed. The way to really win is to work together to solve our problems, not make more problems.

A bit of a shock, to say the least in my neck of the woods.... but the only way forward is to try and get on well together & work together for good. Hope that's possible.

You are right, Jim. But that is quite a challenge and there is so much hatred it could be too late...

I saw the trend on TV when I went to bed at 10pm last night, so wasn't overly shocked when Mr T was the winner this morning. But it's still a shocking result! Great article, Jim, we all have to work together, regardless of who we support. Good luck America. Stay calm.

I voted for the same guy, Jim. I firmly believe that the only way to keep shit like this from happening in the future is to give everyone a chance and not have the stacked deck we have now.

This has been the ugliest thing I've ever seen election-wise. As much as I miss my maternal grandfather (every, every day) I am so glad he wasn't around to see this. It would have hurt his heart so much.

Can't say it's made my heart feel very good, either.

I am disturbed by some of the vitriol I am hearing and seeing from members of the party that came up short.
Their biggest error is in painting those of the winning party with a broad brush, as it will only antagonize the folks who are far from being biased and predjudiced.

Mine didn't win either. And that's okay. I've accepted it, blogged about it, moved on. :) GOP has been complaining for years about how they can't get anything done with Obama, and now they have total control... and therefore total control to "fix" everything they have been whining about. And let's be honest, nothing ever changes in Washington anyway. *sigh* But on the upside... to your article...

I heard the best story on the radio about a DJ who paid for the person behind her in line at dunkin before work on election day because, you know, everyone was a bit stressed out. She has these coins that say "please pay it forward" and asked the guy at the counter to give it to the next person and just ask them to do something nice for someone else that day.

She saw him today when she went to get her coffee and he said, he lost track of how many times that coin was "paid forward" two days earlier.

It costs nothing to be kind. And it's effect is exponential.

The election result was no surprise to me Jim. In my country we voted for change from a corrupt government (even though the current govt is corrupt too :)) two years ago even though the leader's past was controversial. The media bias, laughable polls was similar, only in India much worse. Congratulations and good luck!
