It Doesn't Get Much Worse Than That

When a game starts with the first snap going over the quarterback's head, into the end zone, resulting in a safety being scored by the defense, you know immediately that anything you predicted concerning that game is in danger.

My betting advice, given last time we were here, was dead wrong. It happens. The Denver Broncos played one of the worst games I've ever witnessed in the Super Bowl. Seattle kicked their asses from pillar to post. My performance - my prediction concerning a close game - was as putrid as anything the Broncos did.

Final tally for the day was minus $550.

The good news (or the bad news, since it means I'll be back next year with more advice) is that, for the four years I've been giving betting advice on the Super Bowl, we're still ahead $555.

Four Years, Total Risk - $8,710
Return = +6.37%

Yesterday's travesty was just one of those things that will eventually happen to every investor. Nobody gets it right every time. I hope nobody was hurt too badly. If I don't make it up to you next year, you'll have every right to hunt me down and shoot me full of as many holes as Denver displayed in the game.

Soon, with something that probably won't cost you anything.

I saved $550, so next year maybe i'll go with your advise. You're due.

As per my custom, I didn't watch any of it, consequently avoiding the pain that I would have endured by commiserating with the Broncos! Sad, sad, sad!

That must have been one helluva game, judging from the score. ::BIG-ass eye-roll here::

I figure I have saved at least $8,710.

Has Denver ever played in a close ***** **** ...or, should that be _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ game?

Whatever ...pitchers and catcher!

Considering their season, i don't think anyone could have predicted that Denver would just lie down, roll over, and let themselves get beaten up.

Better luck next year!

it was too painful to watch so i went to bed right after the touchdown after halftime my parting remark to Toonman was: i believe there's a Meadowland curse on the Mannings this season

Oh, that's sickening. But it's good you can raise a smile out of it too.

I rarely have much of a serious rooting interest in the SB (one of the perks, such as it is, of being a Lions fan). Even so, Seattle scored in the first 12 seconds of both halves. If you're Denver, you know, when that happens, things are just not going your way. . .

But betting? Never touch the stuff. . .

The only time I ever bet is on the Grand National and then I pull the name out of a hat! I did, however, watch a few minutes of the game before turning in -- It was just before the half and I saw Seattle score a touchdown. Was surprised to hear the result the next morning.
