This Is How Much I Am Devoted To Playing Fast-Pitch Softball

Let no one ever question my passion for the game. I passed up tickets to the Celtics - Cavaliers game tonight in order to play softball in South Boston.

Considering the fact that the Celtics are my favorite team - as witnessed by this love letter I wrote to them when they were in the midst of an 18-game losing streak three-and-a-half years ago - this proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the most devoted softball player on the face of the earth.

Or utterly insane.

My Stats At M Street - make me feel good by going "Ooh! What a huge manly on-base percentage you've got!"

Soon, with more better stuff (unless some once-in-a-lifetime thing happens tonight, like Paul Pierce scoring 73 points, in which case I'm throwing myself under a bus.)

OK, I'll admit this is DEDICATION. Or insanity. You choose.

OT... but. Yesterday you said panic is creeping in re: the B's. I imagine it's full-blown melt-down mode today. Just sayin'.

You had better be making history out there on the diamond, dear Dog. Because you for sure are missing the fall of the Fake King Lebron. At the hands of the boys in green, no less. You are a wonder to behold. EFH

Passing up a game between the Celtics and the Cavs? I'm leaning strongly towards insanity!

If this was really the season when people should be indoors playing sports I would chastise you for missing an opportunity tonight.
However, round ball (and ice hockey) was meant to be played when the weather precluded outdoor activities. Besides, when one has a passion for crouching, he should pass up any chance.

Oh, and the slugging percentage isn't half bad either.

Not a good thing to pose either/or to your readers.
Most devoted softball player
OR
utterly insane.
Tough choice.

Okay, I looked over your career stats and I want to see a post dedicated entirely to the one home run. I'm guessing it will include the phrase, "...and then the outfielder fell down..."

Although I don't know much about stats, I'll take your word that you're doing good... so long as you don't actually say, "huge manly on-base percentage" when out and about. That's just plain creepy.

Perhaps its a bit of both insanity and devotion. Whatever, being a Red Sox fan, I do understand. ;-)

As usual I'm with Michelle H.: creepy. BUT, I read your devotion to fast-pitch softball as a regular-guy dedication to - and way to actively PLAY - the game we all love, which is baseball. And since I have an abiding affection for the game I'm willing to overlook the creepy and embrace the stats. :)

I already know that you're utterly insane.. but I'd still say that it's a bit of both. Your stats are Greek to me but I'll still Ohh and Ahh you since I saw that photo of you in the previous post. ;)

Softball? I know nothing! Except that OlderSon plays softball and I go to watch his games but usually spend most of the time playing with my grandson.
